UPDATE: Driver dies following crash near rehab facility in Franklin Co.

LNR Rollover Accident 1

FRANKLIN CO., PA – One of the drivers involved in a two-vehicle collision in Franklin County last week has died, Fox 43 reports.

This is an update to a story we reported previously.

Emergency responders were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Laurel Lakes Rehab Center at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7.

A driver traveling south on a nearby highway apparently lost control of their vehicle, which went into a grassy berm, hit a road sign, and then ran down an exit ramp. The vehicle eventually hit a second car as it exited the rehab facility’s parking lot onto Franklin Farm Lane.

The impact caused both vehicles to overturn and land on their roofs.

The driver of the second vehicle was unresponsive when crews arrived. They had to cut her out of the vehicle to send her to Chambersburg Hospital, where she apparently died. Authorities identified her as Jayne Lorah, 81.

The driver of the first vehicle also suffered serious injuries and received transportation to Chambersburg Hospital. We do not know that person’s identity or current condition.
