5-vehicle crash involving box truck almost topples telephone pole in Lancaster Co.

LANCASTER CO., PA – A box truck slammed into telephone pole and nearly knocked it over as part of a five-vehicle crash that happened in Providence Township last Tuesday morning.

CBS 21 reports that the incident happened in the 800 block of Lancaster Pike at around 9:30 a.m. on May 12. Authorities say the truck sheared the telephone pole but that it remained upright.

Firefighters with the Quarryville Fire Company helped to clear the scene and direct traffic. It took them about two hours to remove all the vehicles.

We do not know what actually caused the crash or whether it injured anyone. We will provide updates if we learn that information.
